E-Stream successfully masters crash test

(Press release,  Moenchengladbach, 31.07.2020) – The E-Stream vehicle has passed the crash test in a frontal collision, which is mandatory for Europe, without any complaints. (Regulation No 94 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of motor vehicles with regard to protection in the event of a frontal impact) The crash test required for approval will be applied to vehicles with a maximum permissible laden weight not exceeding 2,5 tonnes. The complete protection of the occupants is checked, including the extent to which the standardized crash test for electric vehicles could ignite the battery.

During the test, the vehicle collides centrally and head-on with a non-deformable object. The dummies are equipped with sensors at various neuralgic “body parts” that are vital for survival and generally relevant to health, which take measurements during the accident situation.

This crash test is again an important milestone for E-Stream. The successful completion of the crash test is a prerequisite for applying to the individual authorities for approval of the vehicle and for obtaining approval.
